MODICA AND CAVA ISPICA
This tour brings together gourmands and adventurers because, at an initial route in the baroque city of Modica, it follows a visit immersed in the nature of Cava d’Ispica. Modica, with its characteristic subdivision in the upper and lower part, offers the tourist beautiful views thanks to its belvedere, but also the excellent food, through the flourishing of many typical restaurants that offers delicious dishes made with traditional ingredients. The second part of the tour focuses on the Cava d’Ispica, a river valley that cuts through the ibleo plateau, home to a very rich history that starts from prehistory. The valley in question, in fact, has been the crossroads of many different people who have left their testimony in the centuries and millennia. Among the Mediterranean scrub are preserved prehistoric necropolis, Christian catacombs, rock oratories and housing and monastic testimonies that from prehistory lead to 1300 AD.
